ALOHA! Hungry SCS family members (107 in all)!

Today was a great day at the Magic Kingdom. During our class, Energy and Waves, we expanded upon what we're learning in Mr. Perry and Mrs. Lucas's IPC class. We discussed sound travel, amplitude, wavelength, crest, trough, and the reflection and refraction of light. Afterward, we all (yes, 107!) rode Mrs. Chaulk's favorite ride, "It's a Small World". (It's no surprise she's a geography teacher.) Afterward, as we were trying to get what some consider to be the annoying song out of our heads, we had an opportunity for some fun in the park with our friends. Many rode Space Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad, Buzz Lightyear, the Teacups, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Haunted Mansion. We left the park and enjoyed a sensational Polynesian luau dinner show. We concluded the evening by discussing how God desires us to take responsibility for our actions while simultaneously leaning on him for support. Some students elected to swim after our evening devo. (YIKES!!! At 46 degrees, I'm thinking...CRAZY!!!) Others who were simply exhausted from the pace, chose to retire to their rooms and get some well-needed rest. Tomorrow we will be returning to EPCOT for some relaxing leisure time before returning to the airport for our departure back to Fort Worth. Although this trip has been VERY exciting and eventful, we are eager to return home to our family and friends.

Fire Dancer Extraordinaire

This showman really "burned down the house!"

Polynesian Luau

Core learning requirement! Hula Dancing Lessons! The students were great and shared the stage with others.

Okay...really!!! Who's the "character" Mr. Estep?

Mr. Estep is apparently interviewing with Mr. Disney here along with his son, Dillon.

Great picture inside "It's A Small World"

As cheesy as it is for some, this is Mrs. Chaulk's favorite attraction at Disney. It is a mandatory geography "experience" :)

Fun at EPCOT

Today was quite a day! It started off a bit damp and chilly; however, we felt fortunate that we had drizzle rather than snow like our friends back home. We started of our morning by going to our class, Millinneum Cultures. We learned quite a bit about how cultures are interdependent. Afterward, we met up with our parent chaperones and tried numerous cuisines from across the world. (Do you know how delicious couscous is? What about sushi?) We conducted interviews of people throughout the World Showcase and learned about their governments, economic resources, religious beliefs, social structures, education systems, and arts. We all rode one of the best rides at EPCOT, "Soarin". (You should have seen the expression on the ticket-taker's face when we said we had 107 Fast Passes and people behind us!) We then all (yes, 107) headed over to ride "Living on the Land", a ride which taught us about human-environment interaction and the importance of conservation/ecology. After riding "Spaceship Earth" and learning about the evolution of communications, we had a FABULOUS private dinner on a large patio on the water. (The fajitas, nachos, salad, fruit, ice cream, etc. was superb, and the waiters were extremely kind and accommodating.) To finish the evening, we kicked back and watched the laser-fireworks show, Illuminations. Without a doubt, we had the best seats in the park! When we FINALLY arrived back at the hotel (me with blisters ALL over my feet), we discussed how we as Christians are always setting examples for others through our words and actions. When the "lights out" time arrived, no one argued; we were all exhausted.

"Webbed" Together

Cultures, we discovered, are all interconnected or "webbed" together.

So True!

Could Mr. Disney's words be any more true? I think not!

Too Close for Comfort

Mr. Richards and Mr Crow get cozy close in the U.K.

Unity in Action

Today we learned that people, as well as countries, must work collectively as a cohesive unit if strides are to be made.

Sodas from Across the World

During our Millennium Cultures class this morning we tasted sodas from across the world. We all agreed that Italy's was by far the worst. Israel seemed to be the best received. It tasted somewhat like Sprite.

Hey there, big boy!!!

The star of the show was quite smitten with our suave, debonair dad, G.W. Estep. Mr. Estep was the envy of all of the male audience members.

Mrs. or Mr. Potato Head?

Monday at Hollywood Studios

And we're off...!!! The students spread out in the park and, like a colony of ants, infested every ride in sight! Along the way, good food was had, great friends were made and most importantly, God was present in all that we did.

Mrs. Chaulk's Broadway Debut

Mrs. Chaulk and Mr. Richards receive the surprise of their lives when they were selected to perform with the cast of the Hoop Dee Doo Review. Approximately 250 people witnessed the amazing performances; cheers were heard throughout the grand ballroom.
